Anna Réti

Anna Réti studied at the Rotterdam Dance Academy, and then worked with Itzik Galili and Conny Janssen in The Netherlands. Upon her return to Hungary, she worked with László Hudi, Réka Szabó, Viktor Bodó and Gábor Goda amongst others. In recent years she has participated in the projects of Josef Nadj, Karine Ponties and Paulo Riberio. She has been making her own choreography since 2005, many of her works have received recognition and awards in Hungary and abroad.

Her own works: Inside Out, Home of Cards, Night Shift, Fregoli syndrome, Vis-à-vis, Comments on the moment, Ego Trip, Point of You, Stairs.

Presence Workshop: the main focus of the workshop is our awareness and consciousness of our physical and mental presence. We mostly start the day with a warm up combined with some ancient Chinese health protection exercises call the Bian exercises, what gives up a very harmonic way of waking up the body. We do some simple couple work to find our center and our connection to the ground. Through some excercises, games, improvisation, composition tasks, and learning some repertoire material, we investigate the theme of the workshop: our presence. The aim of the workshop is to deepen the knowledge of physical presence, while forming a character, through experiencing different state of mind.

2005 Best Solo prize on the 6th Solo Festival for ‘Inside out’.
2006 1st prize for Dance, the 2nd prize for Choreography, and the Publik prize for ‘Inside out’ on the 10th International Solo Festival in Stuttgart.
2006 Public prize for ’Inside out’ on the II. Monodance Festival, Hungary.
2007 Rudolf Lábán prize for ’Inside out’.
2007 Fringe prize on the 2nd Budapest Fringe Festival for ’Inside out’.
2007 ‘Inside out’ 1st prize on the First International Contemporary Choreography Competition in Sofia, Bulgaria.
2007 ’Inside out’ is among the finalists of 12 Masdanza Contemporary Choreography Competition of the Canary Islands.
2008 Fülöp Viktor Scholarship.
2008 Best Dancer and 3rd prize for Choreography of ‘Home of cards’, on the Aarhus International Choreography Competition, Denmark.
2009 ‘Second skin’ is among the finalists, and 3rd price for ‘Waiting for myself’(choreography Melinda Virág, Csilla Nagy, Anna Réti) on the 14 Masdanza Contemporary Choreography Competition of the Canary Island.
2012 ‘Vis-a-vis meetings with A’ earned Laban Rudolf Award.
2015 ‘Point of You’ has been selected into 2016 Priority Companies by Aerowaves  .
